Many roads lead to Maimarkt
Mannheim may not be Rome, but there are still many ways to get to Maimarkt – Germany’s biggest regional trade show located right next to the A 656 freeway (Autobahn).
By car
Getting to Maimarkt by car is easy – simply follow the signs. Ample parking is available. Besides the main parking area, visitors can also use the glider airport on busier days. A shuttle bus service will be available.
By train
Rangierbahnhof station in Mannheim is the best stop for visitors arriving by train. From there, you can take the tram (follow the signs to the nearest stop) to the Maimarkt. Alternatively, you can walk directly from Rangierbahnhof in just ten minutes. During the trade show, all regional trains (RE or RB) from Frankfurt, Heilbronn and Mainz, as well as suburban rail network trains (S-Bahn) from Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Osterburken and Speyer, stop at Rangierbahnhof between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. The schedules are coordinated so that suburban rail network trains stop twice an hour at nearly all stations, and four times an hour at most stations. We recommend buying the Maimarkt Ticket, which includes entry to the trade show and public transport to and from anywhere in the Rhein-Neckar region (six euros for adults, three euros for children).

By public transportation
Maimarkt is also easily accessible by public transit. The local transportation company (RNV) runs extra busses and trains for visitors. There is also a brand-new stop at the Maimarkt grounds. The tram lines 6 and 9 take you directly to the main entrance.
Here are the most convenient routes:
Coming from the west, take tram line 6, which comes from Rheingönheim, via Ludwigshafen-Rathaus, Paradeplatz, and Wasserturm.
Coming from the east, take tram line 5, which comes from Weinheim (in the Bergstrasse region) via Schriesheim and Heidelberg, to Neuostheim, where you can transfer to the bus (see below).
Coming from the north of downtown Mannheim (Neckartor station), take tram line 5 to Neuostheim. From here take the bus line T to Maimarkt. Extra busses (line V) will be running, if needed.
