Karlsruhe is an important connecting station of the Deutsche Bahn AG and lies directly on the ICE route Hamburg – Frankfurt – Basel . The West-East axis Karlsruhe – Stuttgart – München starts here.
At the main station - and next?
The Karlsruhe main station is located in the southern center of town opposite the zoo and the city garden. When leaving the station through the main exit, you will find a cab stop and tram stops on the square in front of the station. The tourism information is on the opposite side.
By public transportation
Karlsruhe features an exceptional public transit system. Almost all destinations in the city and its surroundings can be reached by tram and streetcar in two to ten minute intervals.
Often, by the way, a ticket to an event will count as a free tram ticket for getting there and back!

By plane
Close to five international airports, Karlsruhe is a convenient plane travel destination.
The Airport Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden in Rheinmünster, for instance, can be reached in only 25 minutes.
The international Airport Frankfurt/Main is served by almost every airline and can be reached by ICE train directly from the Karlsruhe main station within 60 minutes.
