As the world’s leading trade fair for quality assurance, CONTROL is not only in customarily top shape for its 25th birthday, it will showcase additional highlights as well! On the one hand, project manager Gitta Schlaak has announced an uninterrupted influx of registrations and bookings to date. More than 700 exhibitors have made firm reservations thus far, and will occupy a total of 564,000 square feet of overall floor space in halls 1, 3, 5 and 7. On the other hand, interest expressed by foreign manufacturers and suppliers in the field of quality assurance continues undiminished, so that exhibitors from 25 countries around the world have registered to date. This, in turn, not only allows one to draw conclusions regarding the great worldwide importance of CONTROL as a leading international trade fair, it can also be interpreted to indicate that expert visitors see CONTROL as an industry benchmark. “It’s already becoming apparent that we’ll have more than 800 exhibitors from roughly 30 countries for CONTROL’s 25th birthday. These are outstanding results for the first year after finally getting through the finance and economic crisis, with which we certainly wouldn’t have reckoned”, says Gitta Schlaak in this respect.

CONTROL – the Link Between Theory and Practice

Beyond this, international market leaders and mid-sized technology specialist will be on hand at the 25th CONTROL, who are also at home in many markets. And thus world offerings in the field of quality assurance will once again be presented. When all is said and done, CONTROL unites theory and practice in an inimitable fashion and, as an industry platform, provides a link between research and science, as well as testing and actual industrial use. This is made more clearly distinct than ever before by the time tested, once again updated and further expanded series of special shows and theme parks.
The special show for “Contactless Measuring Technology” is worthy of note in this respect, which will take place for the seventh time in a row at CONTROL 2011. In partnership with the Fraunhofer Vision Alliance, this special show has succeeded in becoming permanently established and is presented prominently in its exhibition hall, this time on 3750 square feet of floor space. A special show entitled “Zero Errors with Image Processing and Optical Measuring and Test Technology” will also be promoted in hall 1, with the Fraunhofer Vision Alliance once again fulfilling its role as a highly competent partner.

CONTROL – Solutions-Oriented Process Sequence Expertise

The event forum addressing the topic of “Computer Tomography for Industrial Use”, organised once again this year by the Fraunhofer Institute IPA, will certainly be a further highlight at CONTROL 2011. It will provide expert visitors from all over the world with the unique opportunity of gathering comprehensive information on technology and possible applications for industrial computer tomography in a highly targeted fashion. Last year’s successful launch of the theme park for “Quality Assurance in Medical Engineering” will be continued, and rising demand for QA automation will be done justice with the new “Actuator Technology” theme park. Experience has shown that the forward-looking issues covered by the special shows and theme parks evolve into new, highly promising markets. CONTROL functions as a driving force in this respect, which it views as its primary concern, i.e. bringing supply and demand together.
